COVID-19, My Story

I feel like I have been here before. Yes, yes, I have. WOW, it was a long time ago.
January 2020, I had my hopes up; this was my year! I was going to make it right this time. I had all my ducks in a row, as they say. I sold my house, and I moved a six-bedroom home in two weeks' bills are paid off!
Then screeeeeech. It all comes to a full stop!
Stay at home!!! WHAT? COVID-19 hit – oh my, I need to move again- everything I own is now in one place. I tell myself "look for the blessing Patricia. Yes, it's a lot, but you can do it. Haven't you done harder things in life? Yes."
It's almost like whiplash. What just happened? I lost my career I built from scratch 20 years ago. My client base was steady, they are loyal, and so am I. All gone. It took days to bring my business to a screeching halt.
What am I going to do? Who do I call?
Ahhh, the good-intention-ed people in my life, the ones who think I need cheering up. "it happens to everyone," don't be depressed" "don't be down in the dumps" "get another job" "The government we will get you money, "OMG!
All well-meaning; however, it is not what I needed. I wanted someone to say I will help you; let's sit down and get a resume going, let's look at what we can do now.
Okay, so now that I know what I need, let's call the people that I know will help me to regroup- refocus- re-energize. Blog- write it out. "Get out your books." "Take this time to get things done." "What help can you get from your certifications and training?"
I am no different than anyone. I, too, need to regroup; yes, the coach needs a coach. Why? Accountability.
What happened? Time to take out my skills.
What is real?
What is my time frame?
Create a STIG (Short Term Improvement Goals)
What do I fear?
Where am I on the fear spectrum?
What is my personality?
What are my challenges?
I love interacting with people one-on-one. I respect other's beliefs and value equality.
I dislike routines. I am about finding fulfillment through meaningful relationships and seeking fair and workable solutions- bettering conditions of the environment for the common good.
I am re-energized, less victimized, and more productive and confident than ever before.
This is what I tell my coaching clients. Reach out to your network of helpful people. Use the skills of self-assessment and Self-Sustaining Leadership to empower yourself!
